Happy Valentine's Day! (a bit early)

Well, I started making valentines and now I cannot seem to stop! I made the Asian-themed one for the hubs-the Kanji tag is for love. The little paper purse and "Hip Chick" card are for my boss, I hope she likes them. I plan on filling the purse with candy. The other one I made for a co-worker for her daughter...they were so fun to make. Enjoy!

A few things...

I haven't been scrapping as much lately, as I have been working on items for the handcrafted holidays at St. Kate's. I am doing exploding boxes, cards, tags and an album or two. Worst case-I end up with a lot of handmade things I can give to my friends...not a bad deal...Although the scrapping is slow, I have managed to do a couple layouts of when we went to the Black Hills of South Dakota. If you have never been, I highly suggest you go..we had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it.

Whew! Busy times!

Well, if work isn't busy enough...I heard from a little birdie today (no, not my doggie birdy) that we are going to do the Handcrafted Holidays fair here at St. Kate's again! YAY!!! I need to get busy making making making! Last year I sold two albums, so that was really exciting. I also love to make exploding boxes. Speaking of Miss Birdy, here she is as a tiny baby. Needless to say, she does not look like this now!

A gift for a friend/coworker

My coworker, who I also consider a friend, asked me to make her something special to put her first granddaughter's baptism gift in. The gift was a silver baby bracelet, so I made a baby exploding box, in the colors they were using for the party. Enjoy!

What a year!

Well, it is crazy that I have let the summer get away from me without posting...Leslie, Tessa and Stacy will really give me crud now! You know who you are ladies! :)

I don't have any work to post, but I think I have a pic or two...here is one from my lovely cousin Taryn's wedding where Owen was the "ringbear"...he dropped the pillow in this pic and was so upset! Of course this was quite a while ago...but I never get tired of wedding photos!

Scrapping for fun and profit...

Just here on a Saturday night, scrapping away! Most of my creations now are going for the show-my goal is to complete an album for sale...we'll see!

Wow! Summer got busy!

Here it is almost Thanksgiving, and I haven't posted! Well, I was so proud of my "Lucky" layout, that I just didn't want to put a post above it!

Things are clicking along, we have a great craft sale coming up at St. Catherine University on December 8th, it should be lots of fun! I will post pics of that later on in December.

Summer is here!

Well, summer is finally here and I am starting to (I think) relax! We are hopefully going to get some projects done on our home this summer, and get to the beach...I want to take the kids out boating again!

I am so dang hot...(and not in a good way) no ac in my car and 90 degrees out today..an hour commute....

Ducks..

Today was a great day-we went to the Anoka Airport show-it wasn't exactly an air show, but you could go right up to a bunch of old planes, and new ones too..the kids had a blast! Spent some time taking ducky pics by the pond..here is one that let us get sort of close.

I have been wanting to try a word book, so I did one for Mother's Day! I figure, being my mom she will love it no matter what it looks like, so she is a great person to try one out on..I think it turned out lovely..I may have a new obsession!

I am lovin' tags right now-practically everything I do has a tag! The skateboarding LO says "Skateboarding is not a crime" which was a VERY popular saying in the 90's. (I think I had that t-shirt!)

My grandmother was a scrapbooker

I recently found out that my paternal grandmother, who passed away when my father was 12, was a scrapbooker. I am moved that my father gave her albums to me. I want to restore them, while preserving her work and her memories. You can see that she used materials available to her at the time, and in the scrapbooks are pasted cards, little cut out sayings and of course her journaling. I am truly blessed to have gotten these.

Getting ready to SWARM!

Well, I am getting geared up for the Pine City SWARM in Pine City, MN. A SWARM is a group of papercrafters that use the cricut machine, or would like to try using the cricut. We have some "newbies" this time, and some seasoned scrappers too. It is a lot of fun to introduce someone to scrapbooking or papercrafting, and to show people what the cricut can do. Most people are amazed!! Here is Autumn's last birthday cake, pumpkin and castle are made with the cricut.
